 Estrella de Belem is open year around.

The CHOLULA FAIR  is celebrated in August and September. An  explanation of the festivities can be read (in Spanish) here.
RATES

 The rates are published on our Rates page.  All prices are per room, for one or two people, include a gourmet breakfast and are in Mexican pesos.  The prices do not include tax.  The price includes the use of all facilities.

ROOMS
Estrella de Belem has six guest rooms, called “Alcobas de los Pintores" (Bedchambers of the Painters). There is complete information about each alcoba on our bedchambers page.

All alcobas have cable LCD televisions, a digital safe, two telephone lines with direct dialing, and high-speed internet Ethernet and wireless access.

The alcobas have either king or queen beds.  Some rooms have a full size sofa sleeper.   All have baths with shower and tub.  All have noise-blocking windows and wooden shutters that allow the room to be completely darkened at any time of the day.

The alcobas have radiant heat floors and air conditioning, although the thick walls of the hotel offer natural insulation. 

Smoking is not permitted.

Because the hotel is a peaceful place and has a roof-top pool, Estrella de Belem does not accept children under age 12.   All guests under age 18 must be accompanied by their parents and are their responsibility.

There are no senior citizen discounts.

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 1:00 p.m.


RESERVATIONS AND
CANCELLATIONS.



Reservations can be made by telephone, e-mail, fax or online. In Estrella de Belem, we prefer personal communications, by phone or e-mail, to get more information about you in order to serve you better, but if you prefer to reserve online, click here.

Reservations must be guaranteed with Visa, Mastercard or bank deposit.  If the reservation is made with a credit card, please provide the type of card, name, number and expiration date.  The amount of lodging will be charged to the credit card at the time the reservation request is accepted. 

If a reservation is cancelled 72 hours or more before arrival, there is no penalty.  Reservations cancelled between 24 and 72 hours of arrival will be charged a penalty of 50%.  No reservation can be cancelled less than 24 hours prior to arrival.
When a reservation is cancelled more than 24 hours prior to arrival, the hotel will make the corresponding refund in the same way the payment was made (credit card or bank deposit).
 
Reservations in the high season (vacation periods and long weekends) must be cancelled SEVEN DAYS prior to the arrival date.

BANK DEPOSIT
OR TRANSFER.
If the reservation is made by bank deposit or wire transfer, a copy of the receipt must be faxed, or scanned and e-mailed.   The fax or e-mail should include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and temporary reservation number, if known.  If you do not know your temporary reservation number, please include your date of arrival and departure, the name of the guest room requested, etc.

TRANSPORTATION FROM THE MEXICO CITY AIRPORT.


Continental Airlines has daily flights between Houston and Puebla and we strongly recommend you take this flight.  The Puebla airport is small and customs, immigration and baggage handling is efficient.

However, if you arrive in Mexico City, there is excellent bus service between the Mexico City airport and the city of Puebla.  “Estrella Roja Airport Express” (Estrella Roja Expreso Aeropuerto) buses are found near the International Arrivals area, across the pedestrian bridge on the second floor (see map).  Buses leave approximately every half hour and the trip generally takes two hours.  A round trip ticket costs approximately MX$260.   The last bus leaves at midnight.  Schedules are available on the Estrella Roja website.  Buses travel to two terminals in Puebla.  Those that leave on the hour go to the large “CAPU” terminal on the outskirts of town.  Buses that leave on the half hour go to the “4 Poniente” terminal in downtown Puebla, a terminal exclusively for Airport Express buses.    Travel to the “4 Poniente” terminal is recommended.  Inside the terminal, you can take a secure taxi to Estrella de Belem.

INTERNET
Estrella de Belem has full wireless access coverage.



RESTAURANT.
Estrella de Belem is a “bed and breakfast” and does NOT have a restaurant.  A gourmet breakfast is daily served to guests in the Patio de la Talavera, under a crystal pyramid.

Gourmet breakfasts can be served from Monday to Friday only, to small groups (4 to 12 persons) of non-guests, by appointment made at least four days in advance.


LAUNDRY AND
DRY CLEANING.
Estrella de Belem has a washer and dryer for guest use.  Outside dry cleaning service is available.  During the week, clothing received in the morning is returned in the evening.  On the weekends, clothing is returned Monday evening.

SPA
Estrella de Belem has a roof garden with a pool and whirlpool, wet sun-tanning area and terrace.  The roof garden has spectacular views of the great pyramid, San Gabriel convent and the volcanoes.  The use of these areas is free for guests.

In addition, Estrella de Belem offers, by pre-arranged appointment and at an extra charge, massages, body treatments and facials.  If the guest desires, massages and treatments can be given outdoors on the terrace (see spa).
